INGOT MOULD

Redesign of ingot moulds used in the production processes of the BEFESA ALUMINIO group to produce secondary aluminium ingots. Experience shows that the wear that leads to the end of the useful life of ingot moulds generally appears in the form of fatigue, as the ingot mould is subjected to cyclical loads. This new product has a longer service life.

By reducing its mass by 8%, its life cycle impacts would be reduced by almost 8%.
The redesign makes possible an increase in durability of 5%, reducing impacts by a further 4% (total reduction of -12.3%).
